  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The seawater supply line stretched over 500 metres with multiple critical tie points. A 3D model of the pipeline was produced containing the changes requested from site. SETCH worked closely with the team on site and the external piping fabricators to ensure all pipe could be fabricated and transported to site without the need to be derated and no rework required on site. A full set of General Arrangement and Fabrication drawings were delivered including the redesign of two thrust block supports to ensure maximum strength in areas that have previously failed.

           The stockpiles vary greatly in size from less than 100 to over 20,000 cubic metres and products range from Zinc, Lead, Copper and Coal. From many years of experience with stockpile scanning SETCH is able to provide the most accurate stockpile measurements with the results delivered in the same day of scanning. This is all possible by using the variety of laser scanning and photogrammetry equipment and software available.

           By using two laser scanners, SETCH employees were able to achieve a total of 350 scans within five days. This obtained complete coverage of all areas required. All 350 scans were linked together with millimetre accuracy across the full data set which was then aligned to site datum as requested by the client. The point cloud was delivered in multiple formats with a rapid turn around.

Scan data was transmitted to stakeholders in a variety of formats (.ptx, .pts, .rcp, .rcs and TruView) for project planning and design.

           2 Laser Scanners, 1 Totalstation and numerous targets were used simultaneously in operation to capture the data and tie-in to site datum. All bunds and drains were scanned with the data utilised in later projects. With over 300 scans and over 1000 unique target locations, this is currently the largest single dataset recorded.

           Each of the 4 x locations requiring a platform were Laser Scanned to ensure enough detail was collected so that a custom platform could be design, detailed and fabricated that would provide adequate accessibility to the pumps. The laser scan data ensured the platform could be modelled among as-built / brownfield plant without clash issues.
